TAIPEI, Taiwan, Aug. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- SEMICON(R) Taiwan 2007, the
region's premier tradeshow and conference, and the largest regional
exposition dedicated to microelectronics manufacturing, returns to the
Taipei World Trade Center from September 12-14, 2007. Visitor registration

The exhibition features more than 650 exhibiting companies highlighting
the latest products and services to support the agile fab, as well as a
full range of programs focusing on business and technical challenges and
opportunities facing companies today.
SEMICON Taiwan 2007, will feature a comprehensive technical program
focusing on a diverse range of topics including 300 mm prime and the agile
fab, new technologies designed to streamline semiconductor manufacture,
SEMI International Standards, and seismic risk management for the industry,
among many others.
In addition, the exhibition will feature the IC Executive Forum,
SEMI(R) Packaging and Test Forum, and a seminar on used semiconductor
manufacturing equipment and the global secondary market. The Packaging and
Test Forum will include a keynote address by Mr. Ho-Ming Tong, General
Manager & Chief R&D Officer, ASE Group.
"Taiwan has experienced very strong growth in capacity purchased, with
the highest global level of 300 mm fab capacity, and it is leading the
other regions in new equipment revenues with over US$5 billion spent in the
first half of 2007," said Terry Tsao, president of SEMI Taiwan. "Given its
position in the global market, as well as its strong continued investment
in 300 mm fab capacity, we expect the Taiwan market to experience
exceptional and sustained growth over the coming years."
So far in 2007, the new equipment market in Taiwan experienced a 54
percent growth over the same period in 2006, posting about $5.17 billion in
revenues, and is the largest market spending on wafer processing, assembly
& packaging, and test equipment. Taiwan is also the second largest market
consuming semiconductor materials.
