SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., Aug. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- MiX media, a leading
developer of electronic media solutions, and Continuing Education of the Bar
(CEB), a division of the Regents of the University of California, today
announced the development of the latest and most innovative software solution
for attorneys who use Judicial Council Forms in California.
MiX media worked with CEB to develop SmartLaser 2000 -- a Microsoft
Windows based form filler software package that utilizes advanced features of
Adobe Acrobat 4.0 to enable users to enter case information into PDF forms,
save that information in a case management database and print the form to be
filed with the court.
The program is "Internet compatible" meaning that the form data is saved
in an open standard format so it will be compatible with the evolving
Electronic Filing of Judicial Council Forms in California project. SmartLaser
2000 positions CEB as the legal industry's leader in electronic forms
publishing as the Judicial Council implements its mandate statewide over the
next few years.
"CEB is committed to providing our customers with the most current
software solutions available. We knew that SmartLaser II needed to be upgraded
from DOS to prepare our users for Y2K and electronic filing. Because of their
expertise in PDF forms and high-end Web systems development, MiX media was the
obvious choice for the job," stated Cheryl Moore, Project manager for CEB.
"We pushed the envelope with the power of this solution, the team of experts
at MiX media rose to the occasion and exceeded our expectations. We're now
confident we have one of the most comprehensive software solutions available
in the legal market."
