ST. LOUIS, Aug. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- The Nellcor Puritan Bennett
KnightStar(TM) 335 respiratory support system, manufactured by Mallinckrodt
Inc. (NYSE: MKG), has been cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration
for use in noninvasively treating patients over 30 kilograms who experience
respiratory failure in hospitals or institutional settings (MNT
classification). This action is in addition to previous indications for use
of the product, which include obstructive sleep apnea and respiratory
insufficiency in the home or institutional settings (MNS classification).
The KnightStar 335 is used for noninvasive treatment of respiratory
conditions.
