EDISON, N.J., March 27 /PRNewswire/ -- KCS Energy, Inc. (NYSE: KCS) today
announced the appointment of William N. Hahne, 46, as Senior Vice President
and Chief Operating Officer, a newly created position, effective April 13,
1998. Mr. Hahne will report to KCS President and Chief Executive Officer
James W. Christmas.
Commenting on the appointment, Mr. Christmas said, "We are pleased to
welcome Mr. Hahne to our management team. His broad range of experience in
the management of growing, successful E&P companies will be a great asset to
KCS as we look to capitalize on our portfolio of development and exploratory
properties. Mr. Hahne's charge is to help optimize and continue to grow the
Company's asset base."
Mr. Hahne has 25 years' experience with leading independent petroleum
companies, most recently as Vice President of Onshore and International
operations at Burlington Resources. Prior to Burlington Resources' merger
with Louisiana Land & Exploration Company (LL&E), Mr. Hahne was LL&E's Vice
President of Worldwide Asset Management responsible for the company's
exploitation and operations activities. He joined LL&E with its acquisition
of NERCO Oil & Gas, Inc., where he was Vice President of Operations.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Hahne spent 18 years with Union Oil Company and
Union Texas Petroleum Corporation in various technical and management
positions including drilling, operations, geological and asset management.
Mr. Hahne holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering from
Oklahoma University.
Mr. Hahne will be located in the Company's Houston, Texas, office.
