ATLANTA, Aug. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Armin G. Brecher, Chair of the Executive
Committee and the Board of Partners of Powell, Goldstein, Frazer & Murphy LLP,
recently announced that Frank Love, Jr. received the Distinguished Service
Award, the highest honor awarded by the State Bar of Georgia for "conspicuous
service to the cause of jurisprudence and to the advancement of the legal
profession in the state of Georgia." The award was announced at the State Bar
of Georgia annual meeting on June 13, 2003, at Amelia Island, Florida.
Love received his B.A. from Washington & Lee University in 1950 and his
law degree a year later. He was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 1952
and served as president of the State Bar from 1982-1983. He was elected to
the American College of Trial Lawyers and is a Life Fellow of the American Bar
Foundation. In addition, Mr. Love has served as president of the Georgia
Defense Lawyers Association, and as chair of the Fifth Congressional District
of the Republican Party of Georgia. Frank Love is a member of the Atlanta Bar
Association, the American Bar Association, the Lawyers Club of Atlanta and the
Old War Horse Lawyers Club. He also served as a trustee of the Eleventh
Circuit Historical Society and is a former president of that organization. He
joined the law firm of Powell, Goldstein, Frazer & Murphy LLP in 1951. He
retired from the Firm in 1998 but continues to maintain an office at the
Firm's Atlanta location.
