Bertolli Captures American Culinary Institute's Best Taste Award

Bertolli Sauce Recognized by Culinary Professionals for its Superior Taste

    ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J., Aug. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Bertolli, a brand long
renowned for its rich Italian heritage and commitment to quality products, was
awarded the 2004 American Culinary Institute Best Taste Award in the Tomato
Pasta Sauce category. The American Culinary Institute (ACI), an independent
chef-based judging organization, reviews thousands of products each year and
bestows The Best Taste Award upon the best tasting products in just about
every food and culinary product category. This year, the ACI judging panel
selected Bertolli above all others as offering the best-tasting, highest
quality pasta sauce.
Each year, the American Culinary Institute identifies the best food,
beverage and culinary houseware products through rigorous judging, testing and
scoring by independent, degreed and accredited chef judging panels. The ACI
judging is conducted in San Francisco at its world-class facility, which is
complete with a state-of-the-art test kitchen and technology-savvy judging
room. Chefs use a proprietary software program to ensure unbiased, efficient
and accurate tabulation of results. Competitors in the Pasta Sauce Category
review were judged double blind by the chefs, without brand identification or
discussion among panelists, on a variety of set standards that distinguish and
qualify the best products.
"American Culinary Institute is here to help consumers find the best
tasting food and beverage products and best culinary equipment products in the
marketplace," says Dieter Doppelfeld, certified master chef, and a master
taster for ACI. "We're pleased to bestow the ACI Best Taste Award on Bertolli
for its superior taste quality standards among its competitors. When
consumers are shopping for Tomato Pasta Sauce, know that ACI has given its
endorsement of approval to Bertolli as the best tasting choice."
"Bertolli remains committed to producing authentic Italian products of the
highest and most consistent quality and uses only the finest ingredients like
pure imported olive oil, golden onions and garlic when making its pasta
sauces," says Brian Manning, Director, Bertolli, a Unilever Bestfoods brand.
"This honor from ACI reinforces our commitment to bringing great tasting,
superior quality products to our consumers."
As the 2004 ACI Best Taste Award winner, Bertolli is the only product in
its category that can take advantage of the ACI Award's endorsement. For more
