circuits (ICs), today announced the launch of SP2996B, a 2A Memory Termination
Regulator. The product is designed to drive applications that use DDR Memory,
such as mother boards, graphic cards, supply splitters and memory modules.
The SP2996B is capable of sourcing or sinking up to 2A of continuous
current and is an excellent voltage source for active termination schemes of
high-speed transmission lines like those seen in high-speed memory busses. It
not only provides sufficient output capability but offers coverage for a wide
range of applications.
The device supports both DDR1 (1.25VTT) and DDR2 (0.9VTT) requirements
while regulating an output voltage of within 20mV. This allows for great
flexibility with a variety of platform usages. By offering dual integrated
Power MOSFETs, the device reduces the need for external components and offers
smaller space solutions.
