2002 Florida Venture Capital Conference Presenters Capture $13.9 Million In Funding

          Applicants Sought for 2003 Conference in Orlando, Florida

    MIAMI and ORLANDO, Fla., Aug. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- The Florida Venture Forum
(http://www.flvencap.org), organizers of the annual Florida Venture Capital
Conference, is pleased to announce that six presenters from the January 2002
Conference have raised $13.9 million in capital. The Florida Venture Capital
Conference, Florida's only statewide later stage venture capital conference,
has attracted millions of dollars of venture capital into Florida-based
companies over the last decade.
    A Florida Venture Forum survey now reveals that six of the 18 presenters
have succeeded in securing, either directly or indirectly as a result of the
Conference, $13.9 million in funding from investors, bringing the grand total
for former presenters who have raised capital over the last 11 years to over
$453 million. Other presenters are currently negotiating with investors.
    "Presenting companies featured at Florida Venture Capital Conferences
continued to get funded and are sought out by investors," said Jay Simione,
2003 Co-Chairperson of the Florida Venture Capital Conference and a Senior
Vice President with Marsh Technology.
    To date, the following six companies have received funding, demonstrating
investor confidence, a sound business plan and high growth marketing
potential:
    * Ponte Vedra Beach-based Copharos, Inc., developer of proprietary vitamin
B-12 based imaging and therapeutic agents to be used in the early detection
and treatment of various cancers, received $2.5 million from private
investors.
    * St. Petersburg-based In.vision Research, a company that is positioned
for sustainable competitive advantage with an off-the-shelf enterprise
software framework that enables Global 1000 organizations to deliver
customized mission critical eBusiness applications without programming,
received $400,000 from Stonehenge Capital Corporation and other investors.
    * Boca Raton-based Partner Community, a provider of partner management
software solutions to communications, application and content service
providers, received $600,000 from private investors.
     * Orlando-based psiloQuest, a company that develops and commercializes
polishing pads used to manufacture semiconductors, received $150,000 from
Aurora Funds.
    * West Palm Beach-based ScriptRX, a provider of unique touchscreen
interactive healthcare systems specifically for patient documentation,
received $2 million from CrossBow Ventures.
    * Orlando-based Xytrans, Inc., a leading supplier of Millimeter Wave (MMW)
transceivers for broadband communications, received over $8.3 million from
SpaceVest, Grace Venture Partners, Alliance Technology Ventures, CrossBow
Ventures, Sawteck and Stonehenge Capital Corporation.

Capital Conference, scheduled for January 15-16, 2003 at the Wyndham Palace?
Resort & Spa, a Walt Disney Resort(R) in Orlando, FL.  Applications are
available online at http://flvencap.org/apply (hard copy applications will not
be accepted), for Florida-based companies in all stages of development and all
industries. The early deadline for presenter applications is Friday, September
13, 2002 and applicants are encouraged to apply early to be considered.  A
committee of venture capitalists reviewing the applications, study the
company's business plan focusing on their revenue model, historical data,
management team, high growth potential and existence of proprietary
technology.
    In addition to the Florida Venture Capital Conference, the Florida Venture
