American Eagle Outfitters, Inc. (Nasdaq: AEOS) today announced the appointment
of Susan P. Miller to Executive Vice President-Merchandising for the American
Eagle Brand, effective immediately. Miller, who will report to Roger
Markfield, President and Chief Merchandising Officer, will oversee the
Merchandising function for all categories of the Brand.
Ms. Miller joined American Eagle Outfitters in June 1994 as Buyer -
Women's. She was promoted to Divisional Merchandise Manager-Women's in 1996.
Her current responsibility of General Merchandise Manager-Women's has been her
role since 1997, when she was appointed as Vice President.
During her tenure at American Eagle, the Women's business has grown from
20% to 54% of total sales. This growth has included the successful
introduction of new product categories such as accessories, underwear,
dormwear and personal care. Behind the significant growth is a talented team
of merchants that have been assembled and internally developed under
Ms. Miller's leadership and vision.
