EGL, Inc. Announces Optimization and Logistics Alliance with Harley-Davidson

    HOUSTON, Aug. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- EGL, Inc. (Nasdaq: EAGL), the nation's
largest and fastest growing domestic heavy-weight air freight forwarder, has
signed a multi-million dollar agreement with Harley-Davidson, Inc. (NYSE: HDI)
under which EGL will provide logistics and transportation services for
approximately 65% of all domestic motorcycle deliveries.
    EGL has worked with Harley-Davidson over the past two years, and has
steadily increased the level of services it has provided Harley-Davidson over
that period.  The relationship underscores EGL's growing capability in
providing logistics services to a wide range of its customers.

allowing us to utilize our time-definite domestic ground network to provide
high-level logistics services," said Chairman and CEO James R. Crane.  "We're
confident that our involvement will benefit Harley-Davidson by controlling
expenses, improving travel time and greatly improving quality delivery.
Shipments will be handled less, making them more time-definite in nature."
