DENVER, Aug. 22 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- U.S. Conference of Mayors
President Miami Mayor Manny Diaz, Host Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper,
Miami Police Chief John Timoney (Police Executive Research Forum
President), and several key U.S. mayors will hold a press conference at the
Democratic National Convention to stress the need for the Presidential
Campaigns to be more focused on crime in America and the challenges of
urban/metropolitan areas.
Mayor Diaz will also address the Democratic National Convention on
Monday night, August 25th, at 5pm MST. Mayor Diaz is a registered
Independent and has not endorsed either candidate. As the 66th President of
the nation's premiere bipartisan lobbying organization for the America's
cities and metropolitan areas, Diaz is the second Hispanic mayor and the
first person from Florida in more than 40 years to lead The Conference of
Mayors.
The nation's mayors are demanding that the next President of the United
States include the mayors' recommendations on crime in his
metropolitan/urban agenda during the first 100 days of the new
administration.
