LEXINGTON, Mass., Aug. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN)
announced that Henrique de Campos Meirelles has resigned from the company's
board of directors, effective immediately, to pursue political office in
Brazil. He had served on Raytheon's board since May 1998. Earlier this month
Meirelles also resigned from FleetBoston Financial Corp., where he was
president of global banking.
"Raytheon has benefited enormously from Henrique's support and leadership.
We wish him the very best in his future endeavors," said Daniel P. Burnham,
Raytheon's chairman and chief executive officer.
