MEMPHIS, Tenn., Aug. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- On July 1, Commerce Capital
Management Inc. (CCMI), a subsidiary of National Commerce Financial
Corporation, added a new high-quality bond fund to the CCMI family of funds.
The CCMI Bond Fund (COBFX) pursues a high level of income and preservation of
capital by investing primarily in a diversified portfolio of high quality
corporate bonds, government bonds and mortgage-backed securities.
"We have been recommending that many clients increase their exposure to
bonds, essentially to generate current income while adding greater overall
stability to their portfolios," said Robert P. Langell, chief investment
officer of the National Commerce Financial investment management group. "We
developed the CCMI Bond Fund to give our trust and investment management
clients access to a core, high-quality bond investment with all the liquidity
and diversification advantages of a mutual fund."
The new fund complements the CCMI Equity Fund (COEFX), a large cap core
equity fund which began operation in 1994 and invests in a diversified
portfolio of high quality stocks. The CCMI Equity Fund has outperformed the
Standard and Poor's 500 Index over the last one-, three-, and five-year
periods.
The CCMI Bond Fund will also be offered to a broader range of investors
through National Commerce Financial Corporation's brokerage subsidiaries, as
well as other distribution channels.
James B. Stubbs, a seasoned, fixed-income portfolio manager with more than
30 years of investment experience, manages the CCMI Bond Fund portfolio with
the assistance of Andrew D. Davis.
Investors can open an account in either of the CCMI Funds with an initial
minimum investment of $1,000. Additional investments can be made with as
little as $100 at a time. Prospective investors can call 1-800-386-3111 for a
prospectus, which contains more complete information about charges and
expenses. Please read the prospectus carefully before investing.
