BellSouth and Communications Workers of America (CWA) Announce First-Ever Partnership with Central Georgia Technical College

    BellSouth employees offered Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
                                  training

    ATLANTA, Aug. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- BellSouth (NYSE: BLS) and the
Communications Workers of America (CWA) have partnered with Central Georgia
Technical College (CGTC), based in Macon, Ga., to offer BellSouth employees
across the Southeast Cisco(R) Certified Network Associate (CCNA(R))
training.
    The Cisco Certified Network Associate training program provides
participants with a basic understanding of networking. Upon completion of
the training, CCNA certified professionals can install, configure and
operate LAN, WAN and dial access services for small networks (100 nodes or
fewer), including but not limited to use of these protocols: IP, IGRP,
Serial, Frame Relay, IP RIP, VLANs, RIP, Ethernet, Access Lists.

training will provide BellSouth employees with the technical knowledge they
need to effectively maintain and upgrade BellSouth's network."

    CCNA Courses one through four of the program, equivalent to 320 hours
of instruction, provide students with a basic foundation in networking.
Students who successfully complete this portion of the program are eligible
to earn Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification. CGTC offers
this curriculum in three program options, including Networking Specialist
AAS, Networking Specialist Diploma and Cisco CCNA Specialist. Employees
unable to attend classes at Central Georgia Technical College are able to
complete courses online anytime, anyplace within the class schedule.
