BRIDGEVILLE, Pa., Aug. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- The Pennsylvania Department of
Transportation awarded contracts for roadway improvements in Versailles
Borough, North Versailles, McKeesport and Elizabeth Township announced
District Engineer, Ray Hack, P.E. today. "Cipra Construction, Inc. of
Rillton, PA, was the low bidder on this $1,200,000 worth of work in the
southeastern part of Allegheny County," Hack said.
PennDOT Senior Maintenance Coordinator, Dave Rocher discussed the work,
"Three of the four projects have milling and resurfacing work."
He continued, "State Route 48 from the North end of the Boston Bridge to
north of Lincoln Street in Versailles Borough and in North Versailles on Port
Perry Road from the intersection of Pittsburgh McKeesport Boulevard to the
intersection of State Route 30 will have surface improvements."
"In McKeesport, the resurfacing on State Route 148 will be between the
intersection of Lysle Boulevard to south of Eden Park Boulevard intersection,"
he added.
Ralph Beerbower, P.E., PennDOT Project Manager, explained the work in
Elizabeth Township, "Lovedale Road from the intersection with McKeesport Road
to the intersection of State Route 48 will have shoulder and gutter work with
drainage improvements and resurfacing done."
PennDOT Assistant District Engineer, Bill Sacco, P.E., said, "The
improvement work begins in the spring of 2001 and make these roads smoother
and safer, finishing by the end of summer, weather permitting."
