Sponsored by BayBio and Novartis Vaccines & Diagnostics Inc., Biotech
Bay is a unique branding and awareness campaign highlighting the
organizations that constitute the dynamic bio-pharmaceutical industry of
Northern California.
Bioscience companies Novo Nordisk, Bayer HealthCare Pharmaceuticals and
PDL BioPharma, Inc and service providers Stedim, Inc and Applied Biosystems
are among the 35 life science-related organizations featured in the
campaign. The effort also features research institutes, non-profit
organizations and universities within the area.
"BayBio is very proud to partner with BioSpace on the Biotech Bay
presence," said Matt Gardner, President of BayBio. "Its online and print
resources have been invaluable to the industry here. Whether we're talking
about the challenges our industry faces in hiring, or in keeping up to date
on business intelligence, BioSpace has been right by our side."
"BioSpace could not be happier to launch the 10th edition of Biotech
Bay," said Brian Vacanti, Vice President of Marketing for BioSpace.
"Looking back at 10 distinct maps and now at the size of the online
community really helps to put in perspective the history of the
biopharmaceutical industry in the Bay Area. Jennifer King and her
colleagues who founded the Biotech Bay community should be very proud for
the vision that they had back in the 1980's."
The campaign features the iconic Biotech Bay Map, created by BioSpace's
professional artist, which displays the corporate logos and facilities of
participating organizations. The map is further enhanced through the
integration of many functional components, including a Biotech Bay Hotbed
Homepage on BioSpace's industry-leading Web site, BioSpace.com. Copies of
the Biotech Bay Map are available through BioSpace.
