Tyson to Sponsor National High School Football Telecast; Game Will Feature Two of the Nation's Top Teams

SPRINGDALE, Ark., Aug. 25 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Tyson Foods, Inc.
(NYSE: TSN) will be a presenting sponsor for the Fox Sports Network's (FSN)
nationwide telecast of a game between two of the nation's top high school
football teams, the company announced today.
The "Nike National High School Football Game of the Week Powered by Tyson"
is set for kickoff at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 3, from Indy Stadium in
Shreveport, Louisiana. It will feature nationally-ranked Springdale High
School of Springdale, Arkansas and Evangel Christian Academy of Shreveport.
"This should be a great game that will spotlight two of the nation's best
high school football teams," said Bob Corscadden, senior vice president and
chief marketing officer for Tyson Foods. "We're pleased to help sponsor this
telecast so people of Arkansas and Louisiana, as well as the rest of the
nation, can enjoy watching these talented high school athletes compete."
The two teams were selected for the game because of their national
rankings and because they both have players who are highly-touted college
football prospects. Springdale is currently listed at #5 in one pre-season
poll while Evangel Christian Academy is #9.
Springdale features quarterback Mitch Mustain, who is considered one of
the top high school quarterbacks in the country, as well as wide receivers
Damian Williams and Andrew Norman, offensive lineman Bartley Webb, linebacker
Aaron Finch and cornerback Russ Greenlee. Top college prospects from Evangel
include safety Dan Kreamer and offensive lineman Doug Stroud.
Springdale overpowered Evangel last year 38-14, and went on to post an
undefeated regular season before losing in the semi-finals of the state
playoffs. Evangel finished the year with an 11-3 record and won its ninth
state championship.
