COLUMBIA, S.C., Aug. 26 /PRNewswire/ - Edens & Avant, one of the nation's

opening its much-anticipated 70,000 square-foot lifestyle center Abercorn Walk
in Savannah, GA.
According to Lyle Darnall, Edens & Avant Vice President of Development for
the Southeast Region, the center's grocery anchor -- The Fresh Market -- will
open Wednesday, August 31 at 9:00 AM along with center Grand Opening
ceremonies. In addition to The Fresh Market, other retailers at Abercorn Walk
will be open, including

-- Jos. A. Bank Clothiers
-- Kirkland's
-- White House/Black Market
Ann Taylor LOFT and Talbots, Talbots Woman and Talbots Petites are
scheduled to open this fall. Additional stores will be opening over the next
six to nine months and will feature specialty shops such as maternity, fashion
jewelry, kitchenware and home furnishings.
Fronting on Abercorn Street and White Bluff Road, Abercorn Walk is
situated in the middle of Savannah's primary retail corridor. The Savannah MSA
-- Chatham, Bryan and Effingham counties -- boasts a population of more than
320,000 residents, while the trade area is estimated to be in excess of
165,000 residents and growing.
With the exceptions of Kirkland's-owned Briar Patch and a smaller, non-
combination Talbots store, all other retailers are new to the market and fill
the previous void in upscale specialty stores in Savannah. Targeting the
educated, upper income client, this is the first high-end shopping center in
the area.
