WILMINGTON, N.C., Aug. 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- aaiPharma Inc.
(Nasdaq: AAII) announced today that its early childhood education center, the
aaiPharma Learning Center, has earned both accreditation from the National
Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and a five-star rated
license from the North Carolina Division of Child Development. The aaiPharma
Learning Center is currently the only private, employer-owned and operated
employee child care center in Wilmington, North Carolina.
"We are very pleased with these acknowledgements of the high-quality care
the children of our employees receive at the Learning Center," commented
Dr. Philip S. Tabbiner, President and CEO of aaiPharma. "The NAEYC
accreditation and the five-star rating are both the result of the hard work,
commitment and dedication of the teachers and staff of the Learning Center and
we congratulate them on this success. aaiPharma is fortunate to have a staff
of caring child care professionals here to ensure that our children receive
the best care and early learning experiences."
NAEYC is a nationally recognized leader in the movement to improve early
childhood education. NAEYC created its accreditation program in 1985 to set
professional standards for early childhood education, and to help families
identify high-quality child care and early education programs. To earn
NAEYC's accreditation, a program conducts a self-study to determine how well
it meets the standards. After necessary improvements are made, the program is
observed by independent, professional validators, and then reviewed by a
national panel. Programs are accredited by NAEYC for a three-year period.
The North Carolina Division of Child Development star rated license system
is a voluntary licensing system where a child care program can earn credit in
three key areas: program standards, staff education, and compliance history
with child care regulations. The five-star rating is the highest rating
issued by the Division.
