Wonders of Technology Highlights for Thursday, August 22

    MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL, Minn., Aug. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- The Wonders of
Technology sponsored by 3M is an interactive technology fair at the "Great
Minnesota Get-Together."  Located in the Progress Center on the NE corner of
the fairgrounds, this event showcases some of Minnesota's leading technology
companies.

    Every hour on the hour -- Thunder House and Lighting Rod demonstrations
    The Bakken will demonstrate a Thunder House and a Lightning Rod
demonstration on the half-hour.

    10:00am -- 3M Visiting Wizards Show
    Shows include:  Cryogenics, Air and Vacuum (film canister rockets), Sound
(big trash cans and making "quackers" out of plastic cups), making "slime" or
"GAK," Papermaking, Crime Lab (doing fingerprints and "Thumb Body" Special
certificates), and 3M Reflective materials (reflective wrist bands).

    12:00pm - 4:00 pm -- Meet the Entrepreneur -- Vertical Publishing
    This segment will provide the companies the Anoka County Economic
Development Partnership has invested in the chance to be featured in one of
the 12 days of the fair to promote their technology, answer questions, and
discuss opportunities with people who stop by.

    11:00am -- 3M Visiting Wizards Show
    12:00pm -- 3M Visiting Wizards Show
    1:00pm -- 3M Visiting Wizards Show
    2:00pm -- 3M Visiting Wizards Show
    3:00pm -- 3M Visiting Wizards Show

    Here's what else is happening at the Wonders of Technology:
    3M is celebrating its 100th birthday this year.  Learn the history of 3M
while visiting the history wall and have the opportunity to view old 3M
commercials on the "Vikuiti," 3M's rear projector screen.  Children and adults
can learn to use interactive computer screens while playing interactive games
at the "Hall of Innovation."  Don't forget to stop by to see one of the six
daily Visiting Wizards shows and get your 3M penny souvenir!
    Check out the latest in biometrics technology by Unisys.  Includes Iris
Scanning, Fingerprint, Ambient light facial recognition and hand geometry.

possibilities.
