Symposium to Feature Health Reimbursement Arrangements to Help Small Businesses

Fortis VP to Share Expertise on Alternative Financing/Consumer-Driven
                     Solutions to Reduce Healthcare Costs

MILWAUKEE, Aug. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Representing Fortis Health, Tim
Bireley, Vice President of Small Group Product Management, Fortis Insurance
Company, will speak at the Iowa Association of Health Underwriters' Annual
Healthcare Symposium in Des Moines, Iowa, on Friday, September 19.
Bireley will address a critical issue facing small business owners:
affordability of health coverage for their employees. "A Health Reimbursement
Arrangement, or HRA, coupled with a high deductible health plan creates a very
affordable option for employer sponsored health coverage," says Bireley. "The
HRA concept also serves as a catalyst for employees to be more discerning
healthcare consumers, which is a vital component to solving the healthcare
affordability crisis."
Bireley will be joined by Kevin Knopf of the U.S. Treasury Department.
Together, they will provide product and legal information to help business
owners decide how HRAs can bridge the affordability crisis.
The annual symposium provides a forum for addressing the pressing issues
of healthcare delivery, reform, administration and financing. The two-day
forum will include speakers from the White House, Department of Labor, Health
& Human Services, the Department of Treasury and others.
This year's event will take place at the Polk County Convention Complex in
Des Moines, Iowa. Visit http://www.iowahealthcaresymposium.com for more details and

Chief Financial Officer of the Midwest Region for another major health
insurer. He is a graduate of Ball State University, a Certified Public
Accountant, and holds a Masters in Business Administration from the University
