AIAG's 10th Annual Customs Town Hall Presents Latest Customs Programs and Regulations

DETROIT, MI UNITED STATES
    DETROIT, Aug. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- The Automotive Industry Action Group
(AIAG) will present its 10th annual Customs Town Hall on Sept. 18, 2006, at
the Marriott at Centerpoint hotel in Pontiac, Mich., to educate the
automotive supply chain on current regulations and upcoming programs for
more secure and efficient border crossings.

    The AIAG Customs Town Hall brings together high-level border crossing
officials to address the latest government programs, opportunities and
challenges for OEMs and suppliers that engage in cross-border trade.
    The Customs Town Hall features a full day of sessions, including:
    * Update on Customs and Border Protection (CBP) -- Daniel Baldwin,
assistant commissioner, office of strategic trade, CBP and Bob Perez, port
director, Detroit, will present an update from CBP.
    * Update from Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) -- Greg Goatbe, vice
president of CBSA's admissibility branch, will provide an update from CBSA.
    * Materials Off-Shore Sourcing (MOSS) Project -- Mike Comerford, Global
Commerce Systems and Kevin Wade, senior staff administrator - logistics,
Honda of America Manufacturing, Inc., will discuss AIAG's progress on this
initiative that aims to provide enhanced electronic communication between
trading partners throughout the global supply chain.
    * Supply Chain Security -- Carol Johnson, customs specialist,
DaimlerChrysler AG, will provide an update on this AIAG initiative that is
examining collaboration and industry standards in supply chain security
programs, including Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT).
    * Reasonable Care -- Andrew P. Doornaert, Esq., Miller, Canfield,
Paddock & Stone, PLC, will present recommended best practices to help
companies comply with reasonable care to enter, classify and value imported
merchandise.
    * Best Practices in Container Seals -- Eric Hamilton, product marketing
manager, TydenBrammall, will discuss application, removal and disposal of
container seals.
    New this year is an exhibit floor displaying products to facilitate
border crossings. A networking reception, sponsored by DaimlerChrysler,
concludes the event.
