WILTON, Conn., Aug. 29 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Startech Environmental
Corporation has announced that Kevin M. Black, its Senior Vice President,
General Counsel and Secretary, will be leaving the company effective August
31, 2003. Mr. Black had been an officer and, until his resignation in
July 2003, a director of the Company since November 1995. Mr. Black has stated
that his intention is to return to the private practice of law.
Joseph F. Longo, Chief Operating Officer and the sole director of the
Company, said, "The Company has no present intention of filling Mr. Black's
vacancy. His duties and responsibilities will be assumed by other employees
and outside counsel. Given the present size of the Company, it does not have
the need for an in-house legal department. Mr. Black's departure is the first
step in the Company's efforts to make certain adjustments to fully utilize its
resources to favorably impact its ability to generate and close new and
existing sales opportunities."
