Senatorial candidate Bill Jones as prepared for delivery at the 2004
Republican National Convention:
Good day America. People are tired of politics as usual.
We had a recall election to replace an out of touch Governor.
Now, California has Arnold Schwarzenegger -- a dynamic leader who with
President Bush has reinvigorated our economy and stature. Permit me to tell
you why I'm running for the Senate and what I want to do when I get there. I
now lead the effort in California to clean our water. I'll do more.
I passed the single most effective crime reduction measure in California
history. I'll do more. I built a company that will produce alternative fuels.
I'll do more.
Our family knows one of the many young Marines fighting in the hot sands
outside of Fallujah.
Our commitment to him and his colleagues, when they return, and to all
Americans must be a healthy environment, quality healthcare, a strong economy,
and a strong nation. Thank you.
