MELROSE PARK, Ill., Aug. 31 /PRNewswire/ -- Osco Drug is pleased to
announce the grand opening of its new store at 2309 S. MacArthur Blvd., in
Springfield, Illinois, Sept. 3, at 7 a.m. The new 16,900 square-foot Osco
will celebrate the opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony Sept. 4, at
7:45 a.m.
The store team of 25 associates led by Osco Drug general manager Dick
Meyer, and pharmacy manager, Harry Burge, look forward to serving the
community and providing excellent customer service from this new store.
Features of the new store include:
-- Drive-thru pharmacy staffed by professional pharmacists able to provide
computer-assisted drug interaction warnings and drug allergy
screenings.
-- Convenience-food section that includes dairy and frozen food products,
canned goods, baking supplies, pet food, paper products, and household
cleaning supplies.
-- Camera department with overnight film processing.
-- Hallmark cards and gifts, cosmetics boutique, and health-and-wellness
aids.
-- Liquor department featuring a wide-selection of wines.
-- Illinois Lottery ticket purchase and redemption counter.
The new Osco Drug will be open daily to serve customers' needs from
7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Pharmacy hours are: Monday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to
9 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The MacArthur Boulevard Osco replaces the store at 1957 Wabash St., which
closes Sept. 5, at 5 p.m. Prescriptions on file at the Wabash Street Osco
Drug will be forwarded to the MacArthur Boulevard Osco pharmacy for customer
convenience.
Jewel-Osco south-region district manager, Peggy Pfaltzgraff, said store
associates are eager to serve the community from the new location, and that
the people of Springfield can depend on the Osco Drug team to continue
providing the finest quality, selection, and service.

10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Sept. 10, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sept. 12, noon to 4 p.m.
