    Cable Network Proves Consumer Demand for Convention Coverage is Strong

    PHILADELPHIA, Aug. 31 /PRNewswire/ -- On the first night of the Republican
National Convention, CN8, The Comcast Network pulled a 1.5 Nielsen rating at
9:00 PM in the Philadelphia cable television market. The network earned a 1.2
average rating for the 9:00-10:00 PM hour.

continue to air live on CN8, TUESDAY, August 31-THURSDAY, September 2, 8:30-
11:30 PM/ET, from New York City's Madison Square Garden.
    As part of its commitment to provide in-depth political coverage to
viewers and allow consumers to tune in to important issues, speeches and
debates at their own convenience, Comcast will also offer approximately 20
major speeches from the Republican National Convention, as well as the
Presidential and Vice Presidential debates, on Comcast On Demand, Comcast's
Video on Demand (VOD) service.  Each will be available free of charge the day
after the speech or debate, and each day's coverage will be accessible for a
