Remarks by Erika Harold as Prepared for Delivery at the 2004 Republican National Convention on Tuesday, August 31, 2004 Evening Session 7:00 11:15 P.M. EDT

NEW YORK, Aug. 31 /PRNewswire/ -- The following are remarks by Erika
Harold as prepared for delivery at the 2004 Republican National Convention:

I am honored to introduce our next speaker -- an inspiring man of great
faith and compassion -- retired New York City Detective Steven McDonald.
Shot in the line of duty and paralyzed from the neck down, confining him
to a wheelchair and breathing machine, Steven forgave his teenage assailant.
Powered by his faith and the loving support of his wife, Patti Ann, and
son, Conor, Steven has spread his message of forgiveness and nonviolence to
schools and other groups.
Please join me in welcoming Detective Steven McDonald and his family.
