Netscape Demonstrates Continued Momentum of its Custom Netcenter Service -
Announces The Dialog Corporation, the Sun Netscape Alliance and Marshall &
Ilsley Corporation as new Customers
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Sept. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Netscape Communications, a
subsidiary of America Online Inc. (NYSE: AOL), today announced that
Hewlett-Packard has licensed Netscape's custom Internet portal service,
Netscape Custom Netcenter(TM), to deliver a Small Business portal as part of
HP's new line of Brio business PCs. Netscape also announced today that
several new groups have adopted Custom Netcenter, including The Dialog
Corporation, the Sun Netscape Alliance and Marshall & Ilsley Corporation.
These companies join a growing list of over one hundred Netscape Custom
Netcenter customers, including Federal Express and Lucent Technologies.
Netscape's Custom Netcenter service empowers businesses to create powerful
Internet hubs that attract and retain customers by delivering personalized
information and services relevant to a user's business, area of expertise or
personal interest. With Netscape's Custom Netcenter, businesses can create
community sites that reach targeted customer groups or private Intranet and
Extranet sites that connect employees and partners with mission critical
information and services. From a Netscape Custom Netcenter site, users can
personalize their own Internet start page to access a wealth of valuable
services such as e-mail, calendar, personalized stocks, news and weather,
combined with company-specific information and services such as e-commerce
applications, phonebooks and product information.

Hewlett-Packard is using Netscape Custom Netcenter to deliver an Internet
site customized for users of the new line of HP Brio business PCs. The new
co-branded HP/Netscape site will be made available as part of the new Brio
Internet Center and will give small businesses easy access to Netscape's
market leading Internet browser, customized business news, stock updates, HP
product and services information, and small-business tips. The AOL and
Compuserve services are also available on the HP Brio business PC.

develop a "MiWeb World" portal for its web-based customers. The site will
combine content from Netscape Netcenter such as personalized stocks, news and
weather with access to M&I's on-line account services and financial
information.
Netscape Custom Netcenter will be made available as part of the new HP
Brio Internet Center, an Internet resource for users of the new line of HP
Brio business PCs that allows small businesses to take their companies online
in a matter of minutes. The new co-branded HP/Netscape site will give small
businesses easy access to customized business news, stock updates, HP products
and services information, and small-business tips. The AOL and Compuserve
services are also available on the HP Brio business PC.
Since its launch less than a year ago, Custom Netcenter has been publicly
deployed by Hewlett Packard, Lucent Technologies, the Sun-Netscape Alliance
and Industry Canada, an agency of the Canadian government. Other customers
include Novell, Federal Express, The Dialog Corporation, Marshall & Ilsley
Corporation and Sasketchewan Telecom.
