WARRENDALE, Pa., Sept. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- American Eagle Outfitters, Inc.
(Nasdaq: AEOS) today announced total sales for the four fiscal weeks ended
August 28, 1999 increased 45.8% to $93.3 million from $64.0 million for the
four week period ended August 29, 1998. Comparable sales for the 1999 period
were up 24.0% compared to the corresponding four week period last year.
Sales for the thirty weeks ended August 28, 1999 were $417.3 million
compared to the $289.4 million for the thirty week period last year, an
increase of 44.2%. Comparable store sales for the thirty weeks ended
August 28, 1999 increased 23.4% compared to the corresponding thirty week
period ended August 29, 1998.
