RESTON, Va., Sept. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- For years, Americans have been
seeking a viable third party they can really sink their teeth into. Now,
thanks to a regular Joe who's stepping up and throwing his hat in the ring -
and a few burgers on the grill - voters can turn to the Tailgating Party.
The Tailgating Party has nominated Joe Cahn as its 2004 presidential
candidate. Cahn is well-qualified for the office, as he's quite accustomed to
chewing on the meaty issues of the day (actually, he chews on meaty items
throughout the day, which is why he tips the scale at 250 pounds). In
addition to founding the new party, Cahn serves as commissioner of tailgating,
a position he's held for the past eight NFL seasons. His duties as
commissioner have included crisscrossing the country in his motorhome in
search of fun and food in the parking lots of hundreds of football stadiums.
"The Tailgating Party is the true party of the people," Cahn proclaims.
"It unites the right wing, the left wing and the chicken wing. Everyone loves
tailgating, from corporate executives to mechanics. And every vote counts.
But I'm not just out there asking for votes, I'm out there asking for second
helpings, too."
If elected, Cahn vows not to fly in Air Force One or move into the White
House. Instead, he plans to continue to use his Safari Zanzibar motorhome,
dubbed RV One. The 40-foot motorhome is currently Cahn's transportation on
the campaign trail, and after he becomes president will serve as his roving
Rectangular Office.
Cahn sold his successful cooking school almost a decade ago to become a
full-time tailgater, cooking up his signature Jambalaya for fellow fans in his
RV's state-of-the-art kitchen. He's sampled food in just about every football
city in the country, and has met up with people from all walks of life, like
"Pinto Ron" from Buffalo, who cooks food on the hood of his car, and the hot
tub tailgaters in Detroit.
In the end, candidate Cahn believes it's not important which candidate you
vote for - as long as you get out and vote on November 2. Cahn has campaign
stops scheduled at more than 50 NFL and college games over the next four
months as he tours the country in his RV.
