Akamai Named Official Streaming Media Provider for 2004 Republican National Convention

    NEW YORK, Sept. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- The 2004 Republican National Convention
today announced Akamai Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: AKAM) is serving as the
Official Streaming Media Provider for the four-day convention at New York
City's Madison Square Garden.  Akamai, the global leader of distributed
computing solutions and services, will provide streaming technology and their
expansive distribution platform for the party's first-ever convention in New
York City. Gavel to gavel proceedings are accessible live via the Internet at

global audience to experience high quality, live streaming of the four-day
