Texas Instruments and Third Party Members to Showcase Emerging DSP Technology at Embedded Systems Conference - Boston

HOUSTON, Sept. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- The following was released today by Texas
Instruments Incorporated (NYSE: TXN):

WHAT: Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI), together with members of
TI's third party network, will feature the latest in digital
signal processor (DSP) development tools during the Embedded
Systems Conference - Boston. TI will host a third party pavilion
on the conference floor, showcasing a variety of demonstrations
based on TI DSP technology and third party software.

     DEMOS: Accelerated Technology
Accelerated Technology, a leading provider of royalty-free,
embedded real-time operating system (RTOS) software, will
showcase the Nucleus Embedded Developers Graphical Environment
(EDGE), a flexible integrated development environment that
includes a project manager, editor, compiler tools, debugger and
profiler in an intuitive easy-to-use environment. Based on the
emerging open standard, Eclipse, Nucleus EDGE provides the tools
needed to create an embedded application from start to finish.
Utilizing full support for Texas Instruments OMAP(TM) platform,
Nucleus EDGE facilitates faster time to market and increased
             confidence in end products.

             Empower Technologies
Empower Technologies, a leading provider of Linux-based embedded
system technologies and solutions, will showcase its recently
announced LEOs Development Kit for TI's OMAP5910 processor
(LDK5910). The LDK5910 Development Kit is optimized for TI's
OMAP5910 dual-core DSP and ARM CPU and runs the LinuxDA Embedded
O/S (LEOs). TI DSPLink support is available for easy integration
of DSP codecs and LEOs applications. DSP codecs may be developed
or selected a la carte from Empowers' codec portfolio.
Application development is supported by the LDK5910 software
             development kit.

             Jaluna
Jaluna, a leading provider of virtual infrastructure software for
embedded systems, will demonstrate Jaluna Osware(TM). The demo
combines Linux and the TI DSP/BIOS(TM) kernel running
simultaneously on a TMS320DM642 evaluation board and retaining
BIOS's real-time behavior. A video stream, sent over Ethernet
using RTP/RTSP, is captured by a Linux application, transferred
to BIOS, decoded by an MPEG-4 codec, then combined with an
overlay and displayed on a video monitor.

             YMagic Technologies
YMagic Technologies, a leading developer of high-performance
video processing solutions, will demonstrate a system for real-
time, embedded video compression and streaming for surveillance
applications. Multiple video channels are concurrently captured
by the TI DM642-based POLARIS platform and compressed using the
MPEG-4 software library. The compressed video channels are
streamed to remote clients over TCP/IP network. In addition, the
system performs surveillance related tasks including interfacing
external sensors and relays, temperature measurement and more.

             Texas Instruments
TI will showcase the latest in video/imaging technology,
continuing to drive innovation throughout the industry. TI is
the established market leader in real-time signal processing, a
status achieved by combining advanced process technology and
manufacturing capability with more than two decades of experience
working closely with third parties and customers on DSP-based
designs and system requirements. TI supplies its customers with
four keys to creating successful digital designs: code-compatible
DSPs and complimentary analog products; easy-to-use software and
development tools; 24-hour accessible support; and in-depth
             systems expertise.
