- Stores Nationwide Participate to Celebrate Holiday Crafting -
IRVING, Texas, Sept. 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Michaels Stores, Inc.
(NYSE: MIK) announced today that, to help families get ready for the upcoming
Holiday season, they will host a Free Family Event at each of their 777 stores
across the United States and Canada. The come-and-go, family oriented
activity will take place on Saturday, September 20 from 10:00am until 3:00pm.
The all day event, sponsored by DecoArt, will allow participants to make
one of several colorful pieces of artwork using DecoArt paint and die cuts.
Crafters can choose to complete a holiday project that can be used as a
Halloween, Thanksgiving, or Winter Holiday decoration. The activity is
intended to introduce children and parents to the fun and family closeness
crafting provides. All ages are welcome, and families are invited to make the
most of this festive season as a Michaels crafting professional guides them in
finishing projects of varying difficulty. Materials will be supplied at no
cost, and the lesson promises to appeal to the whole family as everyone will
be given the opportunity to complete a hands-on crafting project.
The Free Family Event is hosted by every Michaels store as part of the
Hobby Industry Association's (HIA) national campaign to promote crafts,
"Life's Little Pleasures." The HIA, of which Michaels Stores, Inc. is a proud
