ARM Launches Agilent Debug Interface

Partnership With Agilent Enables Link Between ARM Software Tools
                             And Agilent Hardware

CAMBRIDGE, England and PALO ALTO, Calif., Sept. 5 /PRNewswire/ --
ARM [(LSE: ARM); (Nasdaq: ARMHY)], the industry's leading provider of
16/32-bit embedded RISC microprocessor solutions, and Agilent, today announced
at the Embedded Systems Conference, Boston, the availability of its new ARM
Agilent Debug Interface (ARM ADI) as part of its industry-proven ARM Developer
Suite(TM) (ADS) solution.
The ARM Developer Suite is a complete software development solution for
creating applications for the ARM(R) architecture. With the addition of ARM
Agilent Debug Interface, the ARM Developer Suite software will support a wide
range of Agilent(R) logic analyzers and JTAG-based probes by providing debug
capabilities for both single and double ARM7(TM) and the ARM9(TM) cores,
backed up by comprehensive documentation, help files and installer support.
"As microprocessors and SoCs become ever more complex, it is vital that
ARM continues to offer designers the debug and interface tools they need to
quickly and cost-efficiently bring their products to market," said Krista
Salter, product manager, ARM. "Our partnership with Agilent helps provide
this by giving even more flexibility, enhanced functionality and comprehensive
support for designs based on the ARM architecture, as well as access to
Agilent's range of debug and evaluation tools via the ARM Developer Suite
software."
In addition to the increased flexibility the ARM Agilent Debug Interface
gives developers, ARM has enhanced the functionality with support for mixed-
architectures and multi-cores, as well as support for the ARM922T and the
ARM946E-S cores.
The ARM Agilent Debug Interface provides a comprehensive communications
and protocol conversion layer between the ARM Developer Suite and the
internally resident Agilent firmware. Customers using ARM core-based system-
on-chip (SoC) solutions now have complete and seamless access to both
companies' comprehensive suites of debugging and validation solution tools.
"Agilent Technologies is committed to providing embedded processor and SoC
companies with the best debug and validation tools in the world," said Steve
Warntjes, segment manager for Agilent's On-Chip Debug Business. "The ARM
Agilent Debug Interface represents another step in the ARM and Agilent
partnership towards reaching this goal."

    Pricing and Availability
The ARM Agilent Debug Interface is now available as an add-on to the ARM
Developer Suite software and is available for purchase from the ARM Web site
priced at $1000. For more information on the ARM Agilent Debug Interface, the
