Delphi Showcases Safety, Electronics at Upcoming IAA Commercial Vehicle Show

PARIS, Sept. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Delphi Corp. will display its latest
commercial vehicle offerings at the upcoming IAA Nutzfahrzeuge show, being
held Sept. 21-28 in Hanover, Germany.
    (Logo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20020315/DEF002LOGO )
Located in Hall 17, stand No. A06, Delphi will offer show attendees a
glimpse of its extensive commercial vehicle product portfolio including
technologies that help aid driver safety, cut fuel consumption and reduce
harmful emissions. Delphi will also showcase several entertainment
technologies that help make life on the road a little easier.
"Delphi remains committed to being a technology leader in the
commercial vehicle market," said Guy Hachey, president, Delphi Europe. "IAA
will give us an opportunity to display and talk about some of the products
we have developed for this highly-specialized market."
Products on display at Delphi's booth include:
    Solid Oxide Fuel Cell
Delphi's Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC) auxiliary power unit is a high-
efficiency, environmentally friendly device that will convert the chemical
energy in conventional vehicle fuels -- such as diesel fuel and gasoline --
directly into useful electrical power by an electrochemical process.
For commercial vehicles, Delphi's SOFC technology will be implemented
as an auxiliary power unit (APU) to help reduce the need for engine idling.
    Ammonia Sensor
Delphi's Ammonia sensor system measures ammonia levels in the exhaust
gas of diesel vehicles equipped with a selective catalytic reduction (SCR)
aftertreatment system. The sensor output can be used to provide feedback to
the SCR system helping optimize reduction of NOx emissions.
This allows for a precise dosing of urea while reducing the amount of
ammonia released into the environment.
The sensor helps to improve the performance of the SCR converter, which
provides for a cost effective way to meet stringent NOx emissions
regulations. It can be used in light-, medium- and heavy-duty vehicles.
    Wireless truck diagnostic tool
In response to growing customer demand for additional diagnostic
coverage, Delphi is launching its wireless truck diagnostic tool solution.
Delphi's new wireless truck diagnostic tool provides diagnostic
operations such as ECU identification, vehicle information, read & erase
diagnostic fault codes, monitoring of ECU parameters, component activation
and configuration/calibration. It utilizes a Vehicle Communication
Interface (VCI), a tablet PC running the user-interface software and a set
of diagnostic cables that cover all vehicle makes.
    Cocoon of Safety
Delphi's approach to CV safety includes forming a virtual 360-degree
cocoon around the vehicle. During IAA, Delphi will demonstrate several of
its current and future safety products, including Forewarn(R) Pre-crash
Sensing, Forewarn Forward Collision Warning, Forewarn Smart Cruise Control
with Headway Alert, Forewarn Lane Departure Warning, Forewarn Active Night
Vision, Forewarn Radar Side Alert, Forewarn Turn Assist, Forewarn Back-up
Aid, Forewarn Drowsy Driver Alert and Driver Distraction Alert and
Resettable Seat Belt Retractor.
Climate Control, Powertrain Cooling and Power Products
On display at IAA will be Delphi's compact and highly efficient
compressors including the swash plate and compact variable compressor.
State- of-the-art radiators and condensers cover the complete range of
commercial vehicle air conditioning and powertrain cooling needs.
Power closure products are also making their way into the commercial
vehicle market. Delphi's power sliding door technology is one such feature
that helps lighten the load for passengers and drivers. With just the touch
of a button, a dedicated electronic control unit automatically opens and
closes each side door.
    Oil Condition Sensor
Delphi Diesel Engine Oil condition sensor is a reliable and
cost-effective method to help maximize useful oil and filter life, which
can minimize oil maintenance costs and vehicle downtime. The sensor can
help protect the engine by alerting the operator when oil quality falls
outside specified parameters, which could be either due to the oil
exceeding its useful life or a symptom of an engine problem. The resulting
longer oil change intervals will help reduce the environmental effects of
used oil and oil filter disposal.
    Electrical/electronic distribution systems (E/EDS)
Delphi will display its Battery Disconnect Safety Device (BDSD), now
available with a safe engine restart option that allows drivers to restart
their vehicles after a minor collision if there are no electrical hazards.
This is an industry first and further enhances passenger safety by allowing
the driver to move a vehicle off the road to prevent the occurrence of a
second collision. The BDSD technology prevents fires by pyrotechnically
disconnecting vehicle batteries from unfused cables in case a short-circuit
results from a collision.
Other innovative technologies from the E/EDS, Connection Systems and
Electrical Centers product business units will also be on display at this
year's IAA.
    Environmental dedication
At IAA, Delphi will also discuss its dedication to the global
environment.
Delphi's environmental teams around the world are providing innovative
solutions and healthy options to reduce cost and increase efficiency of
waste management and recycling, water conservation and pollution
prevention, air pollution prevention and natural resource conservation.
Delphi Premium CD/MP3 Radio w/Integrated Satellite Receiver
Delphi's Delco Electronics Premium CD/MP3 receivers are satellite radio
ready and specifically designed for the extreme driving environment of
heavy- duty vehicles. With an integrated satellite tuner, activation with a
satellite radio broadcaster allows users to listen to more than 100
channels of sports, news, talk, traffic, weather and commercial-free music
from coast-to-coast. The receiver is equipped with a NOAA 7-channel weather
band and has LED backlighting for longer display life. The receiver is
available for new vehicles and those already on the road.
    Fuba Reception Systems
Delphi's Fuba Reception Systems offer exceptional reception for vehicle
integrated media systems -- including AM/FM, cellular, TV, satellite
broadcasts, and digital services -- while enhancing vehicle styling with
aesthetically pleasing designs. Fuba reception technologies are integrated
into the vehicle's exterior surface for supporting performance and design
flexibility.

    FORWARD LOOKING STATEMENT
This press release, as well as other statements made by Delphi may
contain forward-looking statements within the "safe harbor" provisions of
the Private Securities Litigation Reform Act of 1995, that reflect, when
made, the company's current views with respect to current events and
financial performance. Such forward-looking statements are and will be, as
the case may be, subject to many risks, uncertainties and factors relating
to the company's operations and business environment which may cause the
actual results of the company to be materially different from any future
results, express or implied, by such forward-looking statements. Factors
that could cause actual results to differ materially from these
forward-looking statements include, but are not limited to, the following:
the ability of the company to continue as a going concern; the ability of
the company to operate pursuant to the terms of the debtor-in-possession
("DIP") financing facility; the company's ability to obtain court approval
with respect to motions in the chapter 11 proceeding prosecuted by it from
time to time; the ability of the company to develop, prosecute, confirm and
consummate one or more plans of reorganization with respect to the Chapter
11 cases; risks associated with third parties seeking and obtaining court
approval to terminate or shorten the exclusivity period for the company to
propose and confirm one or more plans of reorganization, for the
appointment of a chapter 11 trustee or to convert the cases to chapter 7
cases; the ability of the company to obtain and maintain normal terms with
vendors and service providers; the company's ability to maintain contracts
that are critical to its operations; the potential adverse impact of the
Chapter 11 cases on the company's liquidity or results of operations; the
ability of the company to execute its business plans, including the
transformation plan described in the Company's March 31, 2006 press
release, and to do so in a timely fashion; the ability of the company to
attract, motivate and/or retain key executives and associates; the ability
of the company to avoid or continue to operate during a strike, or partial
work stoppage or slow down by any of its unionized employees; and the
ability of the company to attract and retain customers. Other risk factors
are listed from time to time in the company's United States Securities and
Exchange Commission reports, including, but not limited to the Annual
Report on Form 10-K for the year ended December 31, 2004, and its most
recent quarterly report on Form 10-Q for the quarter ended September 30,
2005, and current reports on Form 8-K. Delphi disclaims any intention or
obligation to update or revise any forward-looking statements, whether as a
result of new information, future events and/or otherwise.
Similarly, these and other factors, including the terms of any
reorganization plan ultimately confirmed, can affect the value of the
company's various pre-petition liabilities, common stock and/or other
equity securities. Additionally, no assurance can be given as to what
values, if any, will be ascribed in the bankruptcy proceedings to each of
these constituencies. A plan of reorganization could result in holders of
Delphi's common stock receiving no distribution on account of their
interest and cancellation of their interests. Under certain conditions
specified in the Bankruptcy Code, a plan of reorganization may be confirmed
notwithstanding its rejection by an impaired class of creditors or equity
holders and notwithstanding the fact that equity holders do not receive or
retain property on account of their equity interests under the plan. In
light of the foregoing and as stated in its October 8, 2005, press release
announcing the filing of its Chapter 11 reorganization cases, the company
considers the value of the common stock to be highly speculative and
cautions equity holders that the stock may ultimately be determined to have
no value. Accordingly, the company urges that appropriate caution be
exercised with respect to existing and future investments in Delphi's
common stock or other equity interests or any claims relating to
pre-petition liabilities
