Devon Energy Announces Elections of Officers

    OKLAHOMA CITY, Sept. 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Devon Energy
Corporation (NYSE: DVN) today announced the elections of two corporate
officers.
    K. Earl Reynolds, 46, has been elected vice president, strategic
planning. Reynolds was previously vice president and general manager of
Devon's International Division. In this new position he will formulate and
provide critical analyses to Devon's executive committee of potential
organization-wide business strategies. In addition, Reynolds will be
responsible for strategic and tactical planning and budgeting, coordination
and management of asset acquisitions and divestitures and oversight of the
company's annual assessment of oil and gas reserves. Reynolds joined Devon
in 2003 when the company acquired Ocean Energy, Inc. At Ocean, he was
senior vice president, International and Gulf of Mexico Operations. Prior
to joining Ocean, Reynolds spent 10 years with Burlington Resources where
he served in a variety of operational and management positions. Prior to
Burlington, he was with Mobil Oil. Reynolds holds a Bachelor of Science
degree in petroleum engineering from Mississippi State University and a
Master of Science degree in petroleum engineering from the University of
Houston. He is a registered engineer and a member of the Society of
Petroleum Engineers and the Association of International Petroleum
Negotiators.
    Joseph P. Ash, 50, has been elected vice president and general manager
of Devon's International Division. Ash was previously director of special
projects. He joined Devon in 2000 when the company acquired Santa Fe Snyder
Corporation. He has served in several capacities at Devon in both domestic
and international operations, including exploration and development manager
in the Southern Division. Prior to that, Ash served as exploration and
business development manager in Devon's International Division. Ash began
his oil and gas career in 1985 with Mitchell Energy Corporation, where he
was responsible for exploration and development projects within the Gulf
Coast and Mid-Continent regions. Ash's industry experience includes
exploration, development, business development, budgeting and reserve
planning. He has a bachelor's degree in Geology from Stanford University.
