LIEGE, Belgium, Sept. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- DataRescue SA today released the
latest versions of its IDA Pro multi-processor interactive disassembler and
debugger. New features in IDA Pro 4.7 shorten the binary analysis cycle and
help preserve the integrity of the analysis itself. This new release also
offers additional resources for developers working with embedded architectures
or custom microprocessors, as well as Linux users.
"No other tool comes close to IDA Pro for performing detailed analysis of
executable code. Not only does it do some of the best auto-analysis, but, the
interactive and programmable environment is just about ideal to complete the
analysis manually. With the addition of the fragmented functions support and
the Linux version, a number of IDA Pro users will be very happy: I am one of
them," said Ryan Russell, independent security researcher and author.
"IDA Pro has now become the standard platform for hostile code analysis,"
says Pierre Vandevenne, President DataRescue. "It is our responsibility to
meet our customers' demand for a more powerful and safer analysis engine. Our
customer base is incredibly talented and we hope the additions to our SDK will
further promote the development of the IDA Pro extensions market."
IDA Pro 4.7 now includes:
* Support for fragmented functions and obfuscated code. Fragmented
functions produced by optimizing compilers or Black Hats attempting to
manually obfuscate hostile code may now be analyzed as a single
entity.
* A Linux hosted console version. The unique power of IDA Pro is now
available natively to Linux users. Users may now use the platform
of their choice to disassemble code for the hundreds of processors and
their variants that IDA Pro supports.
* Remote debugging from Windows to Linux and vice versa. Our remote
debugging servers allow single threaded Linux binaries to be
disassembled and debugged from Windows and vice versa. By separating
the hostile code execution from the analysis, IDA Pro remote debugger
helps preserve the integrity of the analysis process. This is
especially important for analyzing sophisticated malware of today.
* Major improvements to the ARM and Epoc analysis modules. With dozens
of significant ARM disassembly engine enhancements, IDA Pro 4.7 brings
most of the power of its 80x86 module to embedded developers in the
PDA and Telecom industry.
* Massive source code release. DataRescue is now offering the source
code of 30+ processor modules and 20+ loaders free of charge to its
clients. Access to the source code will give the developers a leg up
on writing custom loaders and processor modules. Also available are
the Linux interface and debugger source code.
Pricing and availability
IDA Pro 4.7 is available now in two editions:
* Standard edition, supporting more than twenty 8/16/32-bit processor
families: Licenses start at $399.
* Advanced edition, supporting more than forty processor families,
including support for 64-bit processors: Licenses start at $795.
