BOSTON, Sept. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- What's really driving consumer demand
for Internet voice? And what do consumers expect as the market matures?
Members of the Internet Voice Campaign (IVC), an alliance of the country's
leading Internet voice providers, will answer these and other questions on
September 13 at the Fall VON Conference in Boston. The consortium will host
a panel discussion entitled "Accelerating Awareness and Adoption of
Internet Voice Services," on Wednesday, September 13, 2006 from 2:45pm -
3:45pm EDT.
"Internet voice has reached a tipping point," said Jim Kohlenberger,
executive director of The VON Coalition, the umbrella group for the
Internet Voice Campaign. "Early adopters are already benefiting in exciting
new ways from this new technology, but now it's time for mainstream
consumers to become more aware of VoIP's benefits and features. The
Internet Voice Campaign is helping this to happen by hosting discussions
and reaching out to media and consumers about the advances in Internet
communications."
The IVC's Fall 2006 VON panel will help elevate Voice over Internet
Protocol (VoIP) adoption by encouraging consumers to take advantage of the
technology's cost-saving benefits and next-generation applications.
