SyncIT.com First to Offer AOL Compatible Free Bookmark Synchronization and Shared Access Services

SyncIT's Flagship Service Merges Bookmarks from Multiple Computers, Makes
'Live' Edits, Identifies Dead and Duplicate Links and Ability to Publish
                         Bookmarks for Remote Access

    NEW YORK, Sept. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- SyncIT.com(TM), Inc., a developer of
Internet synchronization technologies designed to enable worldwide secure
access to all types of personal data and file documents via the Web, today
announced the launch of BookmarkSync -- the company's flagship Internet
bookmark synchronization service. BookmarkSync is a free service that
unobtrusively merges bookmarks from various sources -- including AOL -- and
provides intelligent synchronization and distribution of these bookmarks among
multiple computers and browsers. The service is designed to enable personal
users and businesses the ability to share and access bookmarks on computers
used at home, office, school, or any other personal computer with Web access.
"SyncIT's vision is the global uniform access of personal data with the
ability to share parts of it in a secure and controlled fashion," said Michael
Berneis, President of SyncIT. "Our first product, BookmarkSync, is a free
service that allows people to synchronize and distribute bookmarks
automatically -- without requiring any manual uploads or edits -- between
several computers connected to the Internet and across multiple browsers
including AOL's 'Favorite Places.'"
BookmarkSync also makes remote, real-time updates and edits to all shared
bookmark files registered. BookmarkSync provides other free services
including a duplicate link remover and "dead-link" finder and delivers real-
time news and weather -- provided by ISyndicate (http://www.isyndicate.com) --
from more than 400 trusted sources such as Reuters NewMedia, Time, Salon,
Fortune, CNET, The Associated Press, Rolling Stone and CBS Sportsline. In
addition, BookmarkSync allows users to "publish" portions of their bookmarks
for public viewing or set-up remote shared access privileges just for family,
friends and co-workers.
To create a bookmark account, users only need to register once regardless
of the number of computers they use. Once an account is established,
registrants download the BookmarkSync client software for Windows
95/98/NT/2000 (only 330KB) and run the installation program on any computer
containing their bookmarks. The first time BookmarkSync runs, it
automatically merges bookmarks from Netscape, Internet Explorer and AOL found
on the registrant's disk.
Once the initial synchronization is completed, BookmarkSync runs quietly
in the background and is easily accessible using the BookmarkSync icon on the
desktop toolbar. Registrants can remotely access their existing bookmarks
from any computer to make additions, deletions or edits and BookmarkSync
automatically synchronizes all the changes between the user's local bookmarks
and the stored bookmarks on the SyncIT Web site while simultaneously
distributing the revisions to all of the user's installed browsers.
The BookmarkSync software is compatible with both Netscape and Internet
Explorer 3.X and up. A separate, free utility imports "Favorite Places" from
AOL and CompuServe 2000. The company will release compatible versions for the
Opera browser and Macintosh computers in the near future.
