NEW YORK, Sept. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- SunGard Trading and Risk Systems today
announced that Dexia Asset Management (Dexiam) has licensed Panorama for
trading, portfolio benchmarking and integrated market and credit risk
management.
Dexiam is a pan-European asset management company with main operations in
Paris, Luxembourg, Brussels and Geneva. Panorama will initially be installed
at Dexiam's Paris location, which specializes in hedge fund management in
which derivatives and structured products are used to leverage the performance
of the funds against their benchmarks.
Dexiam has also installed Decalog, SunGard's front- and middle-office
straight-through processing solution for investment management activities.
Dexiam is rolling out Decalog globally, and will seamlessly integrate Decalog
with Panorama for a complete portfolio and risk management solution.
"We at Dexiam believe that risk management and performance analysis will
greatly increase in importance, and in our view Panorama is the most advanced
vendor software that addresses these issues for asset managers" said
Henri-Michel Tranchimand, managing director, Dexia Asset Management.
Gavin Lavelle, president of SunGard's Panorama unit said, "We are
delighted that such a prestigious asset management firm as Dexiam has licensed
Panorama, a product we have tailored to create a premier risk solution for
asset managers. Panorama is best suited to this market due to its broad
instrument class coverage and its ability to integrate seamlessly with other
SunGard investment management solutions for integrated risk and portfolio
management. We look forward to expanding our relationship with Dexiam as we
install and integrate Panorama with Decalog."
Dexiam selected Panorama over competing solutions because of its
reputation for leading risk management functionality, its flexible and
extensible technology platform, and its strong support for asset management,
including portfolio benchmarking, asset weighting and expected tracking error.
Panorama was also selected for its broad asset class coverage, specifically
for its robust support of exotic derivatives and structured products.
Panorama's extensibility and scalability were also key factors in Dexiam's
decision to purchase the software. Dexiam will use Panorama's extensibility
toolkit to create customized reports and pricing features for fund
volatilities and exotic financial instruments.
Dexiam's trading volumes average between 500 and 1000 instruments daily.
Panorama will be used by staff members for risk control and by front-office
asset managers to support equities, interest rate and all their derivatives
asset management.
