ATLANTA, Sept. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Powell, Goldstein, Frazer & Murphy LLP
announced today that it has selected Vickie Sylena Carlton as the 2003-04
Fellow to the Atlanta Legal Aid Society. This year's pro bono fellowship is
in honor of health care attorney, Randall L. Hughes, a partner at the Firm.
Randall Hughes chairs the Firm's health care industry practice group and is a
member of the Firm's Board of Partners.
"Our commitment to Atlanta Legal Aid through this fellowship program
honors one of our Firm's core values and one of its most ardent supporters.
Randy Hughes has been an advocate of Atlanta Legal Aid his entire career and
it is fitting that we award this fellowship in his honor for 2003," stated

Vickie Sylena Carlton joined the Firm as a fall associate and is a recent
graduate of Mercer University, Walter F. George School of Law. She attended
undergraduate school at the University of Alabama where she received her B.S.
in Commerce and Business Administration. Prior to law school, Ms. Carlton
held positions at the Bank of America and Wachovia Bank. She is active in
community organizations such as the Center for the Blind and the Senior
Citizen Center. Ms. Carlton was thrilled to learn she had been selected for
this Fellowship, "This is a dream come true for me. I am joining a terrific
law firm and they are allowing me the opportunity to pursue a passion I have
had before entering law school, to provide legal services to the
disadvantaged. It demonstrates to me the character of Powell Goldstein."

attorney to spend up to six months at Atlanta Legal Aid. The Firm gives up to
