Detroit Diesel Remanufacturing Corporation Names New Plant Manager

    TOOELE, Utah, Sept. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Detroit Diesel Remanufacturing
Corporation today announced the appointment of Dave Atherton as vice president
and general manager of Detroit Diesel Remanufacturing - West in Tooele, Utah.
In this position, Atherton is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the
remanufacturing facility.
    "With Dave's engineering and manufacturing background, he's a great choice
to lead one of our five remanufacturing facilities," said Jim Morrow,
president of Detroit Diesel Remanufacturing Corporation.  "Plus, his focus on
customers and quality provide a great foundation from which to continue
building our remanufacturing capabilities in Tooele."
    Prior to his current role, Atherton served as product engineering manager
for Detroit Diesel Corporation from 1999 to June 2005.  This position included
responsibility for external engine components and exhaust gas recirculation
components for the Series 60 on-highway truck engine, as well as component
development for the Series 2000 and 4000 off-highway diesel engines.  In 1998,
he was named staff project engineer.  Prior to this, Atherton progressed
through the organization holding positions of increasing responsibility on the
Manufacturing and Engineering staffs.
    Atherton began his career in 1981 as a machinist and millwright at Algoma
Steel Corporation in Canada.
    Atherton holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from
Michigan Technological University and a master's degree in Business
Administration from the University of Michigan - Dearborn.
