Innovative Conference Combines Interactive Internet Capabilities and Action
Oriented Tools
WASHINGTON, Sept. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- womenCONNECT.com (WCC), the leading
online destination for women business owners and professionals at
http://www.womenconnect.com will present The E*VENTURE, an innovative business
conference by and for female entrepreneurs. Scheduled for October 25th and
26th, The E*VENTURE will be held at The Ronald Reagan Building and The
International Trade Center in Washington, DC.
The E*VENTURE at http://www.eventurers.com will provide "real-time" strategies
and action-oriented tools to help women entrepreneurs jump-start their
revenues, increase their client base, negotiate higher fees, distinguish their
business on the Internet, and manage or eliminate threats to their success.
In addition, registrants to the event will become WCC registered users with
special "E*VENTURERS ONLY" access to private Internet bulletin boards where
they can interact with one another and communicate with conference leaders
before and after the event.
"The E*VENTURE extends our outreach and shares Internet and networking
opportunities with the real world," said Susan DeFife, president and CEO of
WCC and keynote speaker at The E*VENTURE. "We are doing a great deal to
connect women via the Internet to give them the tools to grow their
businesses. We see this event as a conference where women can spend each day
getting solid information that they will use immediately." WCC's business
content was recently hailed by BusinessWeek Online as "some of the richest and
most diverse content of its kind on the Web."
U.S. women were responsible for $3.3 trillion in consumer spending in 1997
and another $1.5 trillion as purchasing agents for companies. Combining their
personal and professional expenditures, U.S. women make up the largest single
economic entity in the world.* The National Foundation for Women Business
Owners (NFWBO) reported in May 1999 that revenues generated by the 9.1 million
women-owned businesses in the U.S. have increased to $3.6 trillion annually --
a gross economic output greater than the GDP of Germany. Revenue from U.S.
women-owned businesses has doubled since 1987, far outpacing the growth in the
number of women-owned businesses. Women-owned businesses now represent 38% of
all U.S. firms and comprise 1/4 to 1/3 of the worldwide business population.
