EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc., to List on The Nasdaq SmallCap Market

           Shares Will Continue to Trade Under Ticker Symbol 'EACO'

    BALTIMORE, Sept. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- EA Engineering, Science and Technology,
Inc. (Nasdaq: EACO), an international consulting firm specializing in energy,
the environment, and health and safety, announced today that its common stock,
previously listed on the Nasdaq National Market, will now list on the Nasdaq
SmallCap Market.  The new listing is effective with the open of business,
September 10, 1999.
    The move to the SmallCap Market resulted from the decrease in the market
value of the Company's public float below the listing requirements of the
Nasdaq National Market.  Nasdaq trading on the SmallCap Market will continue
uninterrupted under the same stock symbol.
