The New Enterprise Forum Announces Teresa Takai, State of Michigan Chief Information Officer, as Featured Speaker for September 18, 2003 Meeting

    ANN ARBOR, Mich., Sept. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- The New Enterprise Forum, the
entrepreneur's link to resources, will host Ms. Teri Takai, director of the
Michigan Department of Information Technology (DIT) for the State of Michigan,
as the featured speaker for the September 18, 2003 monthly meeting.  Ms.
Takai's remarks, titled "Catching the Next Wave of Technology," will focus on
discussion of pertinent IT issues for developing business in Michigan.

    This meeting's entrepreneur showcase presentation features Product
Animations, Inc.  Product Animations provides true-to-life 3-D visual
simulations on the desktop computer for better and more cost effective
operator training for complex industrial equipment.  Curtis Begley, CEO of
Product Animations, will give the presentation.  Begley has 25 years
experience in the high-tech industry including the successful launch of two IT
start-up companies, TMSI and HarmonyCom.
    Hosted by the New Enterprise Forum, this meeting is co-sponsored by the
Ann Arbor IT Zone and Association of Women in Computing.  The event will take
place at the Holiday Inn North Campus located on Plymouth Road at US 23 in Ann
Arbor.  Networking and registration begin at 5:00 p.m. with the program
commencing at 5:45 p.m.  Members of sponsoring organizations may attend for
free, for other attendees the fee is $20.
    Ms. Takai was appointed by Governor Jennifer Granholm and confirmed by the
Senate in February 2003 to the position of director of the Michigan Department
of Information Technology where she serves as the state's Chief Information
Officer.  Ms. Takai is responsible for developing a new organization and
managing its 1,800 employees.  Her broad experience includes a leadership role
with Federal Mogul as well as senior positions at EDS and Ford Motor Company.
She has extensive experience in computer systems planning, logistics and
financial lending systems.  She received a bachelor of arts in mathematics
from The University of Michigan and holds a master of arts in management from
The University of Michigan.
