Raytheon Awarded $250 Million for STANDARD Missile Engineering Work

    TUCSON, Ariz., Sept. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN) has
been awarded a contract modification not to exceed $250 million from the U. S.
Navy for engineering services for the STANDARD Missile program.
    Work to be performed under the contract includes design integrity and
total systems integration, missile design improvements and technical support
to the Naval Sea Systems Command. The engineering work will be done at
Raytheon Missile Systems in Tucson, Ariz., through February 2005.
    STANDARD Missile is operational on guided missile cruisers, destroyers and
frigates of 16 navies around the world.
