Andersen Corporation Chief Executive Officer Names Leadership Team

BAYPORT, Minn., Sept. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Andersen Corporation Chief
Executive Officer Jim Humphrey announced today a series of organizational
changes at the executive level to form his leadership team.
"All of these changes are designed to position Andersen to achieve our
vision of being the leader in the window and door business with products that
are different and better as measured by our customers," said Humphrey. "In
addition, these moves will broaden the expertise of the leadership team and
provide them with development opportunities, which are ongoing goals of mine."
Phil Donaldson has been named senior vice president and chief financial
officer, effective January 1, 2004. In this role, Donaldson will also have
responsibility for IT, new business development and strategic planning for the
enterprise. Donaldson joined Andersen in 1999 as director of marketing. In
2001, he was named vice president of Marketing and Business Development and in
2002 he was promoted to senior vice president. Prior to joining Andersen, he
spent 16 years at Armstrong World Industries where he held a variety of
management positions.
Jay Lund has been named senior vice president of Sales and Marketing,
effective January 1, 2004. Previously senior vice president of Sales, Lund
now has overall responsibility for sales, marketing and logistics. This
expanded role will allow Lund to be responsible for all "points of contact"
with customers, with an integrated customer focus. Lund joined Andersen in
1985 and has held a number of management positions in IT, marketing and sales.
He was named vice president of Sales in 2001 and was promoted to senior vice
president in 2002.
Mary Schumacher, senior vice president of Research, Technology and
Engineering, will take on the additional responsibility to lead Engineering,
Quality and Advanced Technology, effective January 1, 2004. Schumacher joined
Andersen earlier this year following a successful career at Ecolab, where she
most recently held the position of Senior Vice President of Global Research,
Development and Engineering. Schumacher brings to Andersen 22 years of
experience in research and development, engineering, business management,
marketing, and quality assurance.
Mary Carter has been named senior vice president of Human Resources and
Corporate Administration, effective January 1, 2004. Carter has led Human
Resources and Communications since she joined the company in 1998. In
addition to those responsibilities, she will assume leadership for facilities
and the Employee Service Center and payroll, as well as Product Safety and
Environmental Engineering. This move will concentrate all responsibility for
safety management under Carter's leadership by adding product and
environmental safety to her current responsibilities for employee safety.
Carter joined Andersen following a successful 20-year career at Honeywell,
where her most recent position was Vice President of Human Resources for their
Home and Building Control business.
Also reporting to Humphrey in their current roles are Pat Riley, senior
vice president of operations, Alan Bernick, vice president and general counsel
and Craig Evanich, president of Renewal by Andersen.
Current executive vice president and chief financial officer Mike Johnson
has announced his plans to retire in March 2004 after 26 years with Andersen.
Kurt Heikkila, senior vice president of Advanced Technology, has announced
his decision to leave Andersen in January 2004 and return to the independent
consulting business. Kurt joined the company in 1997 through Andersen's
acquisition of Aspen Research, which he founded in 1988.
As a transition to his retirement, Jim Brett, vice president of
Engineering and Quality, will work in a business development role on a part-
time basis.
    In other executive-level changes:

will be responsible for product marketing, channel marketing, marketing
research, brand communications/marketing services and pricing. He began his
employment with EMCO in 1995 as vice president of Marketing and he was named
president in 1999. His career includes 25 years in management, sales and
marketing.

national accounts (The Home Depot). Mog joined Andersen in 2001 as director
of National Professional Accounts; he was promoted to director of Residential
