eBay CEO Meg Whitman to Keynote WEC Luncheon Sept. 15

    DEARBORN, Mich., Sept. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Meg Whitman, president and CEO of
eBay, will present a keynote luncheon to the Women's Economic Club (WEC)
Wednesday, Sept. 15.
    Whitman -- who took the helm at eBay in March 1998 -- has led the company
to become the world's online marketplace and the number one consumer e-
commerce site.  Her expertise in brand building, combined with her consumer
technology experience, has helped eBay evolve into a leading company that is
reshaping how commerce takes place around the world.

its 2002 list of best CEOs; and Business Week magazine named her among the 25

from United Way Community Services about its new Women's Initiative.
    The United Way Women's Leadership Giving Initiative is dedicated to
improving the lives of women, children and families in southeastern Michigan
by mobilizing women as engaged philanthropists through leadership, fundraising
and advocacy.  In 1999, Whitman was one of 10 community leaders partnering
