It's a Bird - It's a Plane - It's the 24th Annual SIIA CODiE Awards, Seeking the Software and Information Industry's Premiere Products and Services!

    Nominate YOUR products or services for the industry's highest honors;
PR and media firms are invited to nominate on behalf of their clients

    WASHINGTON, Sept. 9 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Software &
Information Industry Association (SIIA), the principal trade association
for the software and digital content industry, announced that it is
accepting nominations until October 17, 2008, for this year's prestigious
CODiE Awards.

The CODiE Awards, long thought of as the premiere celebration of
excellence within the software and digital content worlds, are now entering
their 24th year, and a super hero-worthy celebration is in the works! Past
CODiE winners may not have scaled the wall of a skyscraper or jumped from a
burning building. But they definitely define a super power that is worth
recognizing - vision and innovation in software.

"The CODiE Awards have maintained their status as the software
industry's symbol of outstanding achievement for 24 years," noted Ken
Wasch, president of SIIA. "Even more exciting, the CODiES have continued to
grow in stature every year to become the software and information
industry's most recognized and prestigious awards program," continued
Wasch.

A record of nearly 1200 nominations, encompassing more than 70
software, content and education technology categories, were submitted in
response to the 2007-08 Call for Nominations. CODiE Awards organizers are
confident that nominations for the 2008-09 awards will surpass last year's
numbers to reach a new record high.

According to Lisa Mitchell-Brooks, SIIA's CODiE Awards Manager, "This
awards season is shaping up to be very exciting with so many firms already
expressing interest in nominating, and a record number of judges interested
in participating as well. We feel very confident that a lot of exceptional
talent will be nominated and recognized this season."

Established in 1986, the CODiE Awards are the longest-running,
peer-reviewed awards program in the software and information industry. In
the initial round of judging for this program, representatives from
industry trade press, mainstream technology writers, consultants, analysts
and subject-matter experts carefully review all nominees and vote on
finalists for each category. The judging then continues with peers voting
for fellow nominees in as many as two additional rounds of balloting -
including one round that occurs on site during the CODiE Awards Finalists
Showcase held in conjunction with the SIIA NetGain conference.

Winners are announced at the CODiE Awards Gala, which takes place the
evening of May 5, 2009 at the SIIA Annual Conferences in San Francisco, CA.
