(Nasdaq: PTUS) has been named one of the elite "New England Technology Fast
50" for 1998, a ranking of the 50 fastest growing technology companies in the
area. Rankings are based on the percentage of growth in revenues from 1993-
1997. The program is co-sponsored by the professional services firms of
Deloitte & Touche LLP and Hale and Dorr LLP. This is the second consecutive
year that Peritus has received this award.

1993 to 1997 resulted in a ranking of 20 overall in the Fast 50 for New

To qualify for the Fast 50, companies must have had revenues of at least
$50,000 in 1993; may be public or private; and must be headquartered in the
region. To be considered for an award, the company must produce technology,
manufacture a technology product, be technologically intensive, use technology
in problem-solving, or devote a high percentage of effort to the research and
development of technology.
Winners of the 19 regional Fast 50 programs in the United States are
automatically entered in the Deloitte & Touche LLP Technology Fast 500
program, which ranks the nation's top 500 fastest-growing technology
companies.
